Index, January-April 2006

As I was showing this blog to someone, it became apparent that I needed some sort of index that showed all the books in one list, preferably with links to the posts about the books. Otherwise, someone new to the site doesn’t get the whole picture of what I’ve read so far this year, and someone who might want to go back and reread a post would have to know the month in which I read the book.

I’ve read the Blogger help to see if there’s an automated way to create this index but I can’t seem to find it. If anyone knows how to do it, please tell me.

What I really need is a real Web site instead of a blog, but that’s a longer term solution. Today, at Yahoo, for $2.95, I registered the domain name www.abookaweek.net. Don't click on it because nothing is there; Blogger makes it link despite my efforts to make it NOT a link.

Meanwhile, here’s a list of what I’ve read so far this year:

Waiting by Ha Jin
Autobiography of a Face by Lucy Grealy
A Feast for Crows by George R.R. Martin
The Best American Travel Writing, 2002 Edited by Frances Mayes
Banishing Verona by Margot Livesey
Misfortune by Wesley Stace
Sex with Kings by Eleanor Herman
Faceless Killers by Henning Mankell
Slightly Wicked by Mary Balogh
Making it Up by Penelope Lively
The Siege of Krishnapur by J.G. Farrell
The Gardens of Kyoto by Kate Walbert
The Prosperous Thief by Andrea Goldsmith
Wolves Eat Dogs by Martin Cruz Smith
Assassination Vacation by Sarah Vowell
Stones from the River by Ursula Hegi
26A by Diana Evans
Magic for Beginners by Kelly Link
Astonishing Splashes of Colour by Clare Morrall
The Best American Travel Writing, 2000 Edited by Bill Bryson
